#FernsForFriday!

Aspleniums or Birds nest fern is a tropical, slow growing, evergreen, perennial epiphyte. It inhabits rain forest and is found in soils or branches if trees.
They can be grown either indoors as long as there is enough bright natural light or outdoors but not in too much direct sunlight.
They are attractive in containers, hanging baskets, mass plantings or can be wired to a fibrous slab to grow epiphytically on tree trunks.
They grow well in filtered sunlight to moderate amount of shade. Do not expose them to direct sunlight other than morning sun. Direct sun can burn the leaves.
The ferns prefer a consistent amount of moisture but they don’t do well in soggy soil. Water when the top inch of soil begins to dry out. Avoid watering directly into the center of the plant as this can encourage mold growth and rot.
